Do you or your bed partner snore? You probably aren’t getting enough sleep or oxygen. Snoring is a major problem in many households and with obesity snoring can be made worse. Many people put up with it or sleep in separate rooms or roll their partner over but you may being doing a disservice to the person snoring.
If you or your partner snores I would strongly recommend getting a sleep study to see if you have sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a condition where you temporarily stop breathing several times an hour then gasp for breath and wake up. Most people don’t realize they snore or have sleep apnea but a sleep study doctor I chatted with says that anyone that snores has some form of sleep apnea.
People that snore have more fatigue during the day, wake up to go to the bathroom more often due to sleeping lighter and waking frequently.
Sleep is very valuable for you and your partner. So I encourage anyone who snores to get a sleep study to rule out sleep apnea. It’s a common cause of fatigue during the day. Fatigue has many faces and snoring could be one of the causes.
