Is your skin dryer than ever? Are you lips chapped? This cold winter weather sucks the moisture right out of our skin so stay hydrated and moisturized. Dry skin eczema is very common in the winter. Instead of treating it with just lotions and creams, eat some fish instead. Fish or fish oils contain Omega 3 fatty acids and are great for the skin and eczema. If you can’t have fish then flax oil will do the same job. I recommend 1-2 tablespoons of either oil daily with food. This will not only help with your skin but will keep your brain and nervous system healthy and is good for your heart as well.
Oatmeal baths are good for the dry itchy skin of winter. Get an old nylon stocking or cotton sock will do too and fill it with oatmeal and tie off the end. Put the sock in your bath and let it soak, like a tea bag would, and you have a relaxing bath to stop itchy dry skin.
Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water during this cold weather too. Dehydration will dry out your skin and make you feel more tired and headachy.
Stay warm!!
