It’s the first of the year, you want to lose weight, get in shape an all that. You’re thinking that a good thing to do would be to detox. So how do you go about doing that?
Start gently. Most people jump into it too fast and get sick or release toxins too fast and feel horrible then think "why am I doing this" and quit.
Start by making sure you are getting enough water and regulating your bowel function. Both of these are very important BEFORE you start cleansing. You have to get rid of your toxins daily and the bowels and kidneys are very important parts of your elimination channels.
How much water? Instead of the 8-10 glasses you hear about all the time try this: Drink 1/3 of your body weight in OUNCES of water. Then for every cup of coffee you drink, soda you have or hour that you work out you add an extra 8 ounces for each of those. This sounds like a lot but we are all so chronically dehydrated. By drinking all this extra water you will detox a little with just that. Do this for a few weeks to clear out toxins that might already be there. All this water is great for your liver and kidneys and bowels. When you are having a bowel movement every day for awhile then you are ready to start your cleanse.
Tune in next week for the detox foods show.
