Make an appointment with yourself

When was the last time you said to yourself- “This weekend we are going to clean the garage!”? Then when the weekend comes, you and the family decide that is it too nice to work so you go to the zoo instead. During the week you decide that you are going to organize your craft room, but your schedule becomes overwhelmed with kids’ events, dinner parties and work projects. You need to commit to organizing. The best way is to make an appointment with yourself. Mark your calendar, block out the time and don’t reschedule. It doesn’t have to be a large block of time, it could be just 30 minutes. Make it on a convenient day and time. But commit to that time. If you can book that time each week or at least once a month you will feel good about getting your organizing tasks on track and know that you will have time to do them.
