He is the Director of The Office of Paranormal Investigations and author of many books on the paranormal. His first and best known book, “ESP, Hauntings, and Poltergeists: A Parapsychologist's Handbook,” was named the "sacred text" on ghosts by Newsweek in August 1996 and figured prominently in the research that translated on the screen as the 1990 movie “Ghost” with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze. His most recent book is “A Paranormal Casebook: Ghost Hunting in the New Millennium.” Loyd Auerbach's media exposure includes appearances on shows including The View, Larry King Live, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and Late Night with David Letterman, as well as programs on the Discovery Channel, the Travel Channel, The Learning Channel, A&E, the History Channel, and the Sci Fi Channel.
